Quinta do Freixieiro, Guimarães

Na vida citadina não há espaço para relaxar! As coisas atropelam-se, dando-nos a sensação que o tempo desaparece por entre ponteiros apressados!
É nessas alturas que necessitamos de respirar fundo, tomar consciência e ….Parar! Sim! Por acaso já paraste um minuto para pensar:

Há quanto tempo não te dedicas a ti? 

Há quanto tempo não te permites viver com tranquilidade e  Paz?

Bem, foi a pensar nisso que a “Quinta do Freixieiro” resolveu organizar um dia muito especial. Fez-nos um convite para um “Charming day” de sonho, dedicado a um estilo de vida saudável e tranquilo.
Quando nos reunimos o sol já aquecia as conversas que se multiplicavam como cerejas! A empatia foi natural e todas estávamos ansiosas pelas surpresas que nos esperavam. Depois de uns minutos de viagem, chegámos!
A Quinta do Freixieiro pertencia ao Convento de Santa Clara e carrega ainda vivências e ligações intemporais!
A imponente fachada vermelha abraçou-nos como o calor de uma mãe num dia de Inverno! E lá entramos aconchegadas por toda aquela boa energia!
Depois de uma reunião na sala de estar fomos visitar a Quinta. É uma casa recuperada que convive com o “novo” de uma forma sábia e serena. Tem com 6 suites, um sótão, uma sala de yoga, 2 salas de estar, uma sala de jantar, uma grande cozinha e piscina.
Os jardins são únicos, misteriosos e românticos, ligam-se à natureza enquanto símbolo de perfeição e transportam-nos uma fantasia bucólica, campesina e pueril.
Após a visita, fizemos um Workshop de Cozinha Saudável com a Francisca Guimarães do Blog Miss Kale. Foi simplesmente incrível! Para além re responder a todas as nossas dúvidas, a Francisca partilhou um sumo Detox que superou as minhas expectativas, estava divinal!
E como os “ares” do campo abem o apetite fomos para a sala de jantar! Digam lá o que acham….esta mesa está ou não está espetacular!?
A refeição foi vegetariana e extremamente nutritiva:

  • Entrada: Couscous de brócolos com tomate e maçã assados e pesto de coentros.
  • Almoço: Salada Asiática com tofu grelhado.
  • Sobremesa: Pudim de grão com chocolate.Vocês sabem que eu não como Grão, mas este pudim de chocolate foi difícil de resistir! A refeição foi uma fusão de sabores e texturas inacreditável!

Em seguida houve um tempo livre para desfrutarmos da quinta e fazer a digestão antes da aula de Yoga.

  
Há alguns anos pratiquei Yoga, mas sempre me senti um patinho feio quando a professora pedia para alongar e fazer todas aquelas posições que requerem mobilidade, que eu admito que nunca tive! Mesmo assim lá fui eu…a medo, mas fui! E ainda bem que superei a vergonha porque foi uma experiência sensorial muito interessante!
Recebemos ainda um miminho: uma garrafa de do famoso vinho verde que a quinta começou a produzir nos anos 70 e tem ganho muitos prémios e obtido muito sucesso.
Quero agradecer à Quinta do Freixieiro cada segundo deste dia incrível! Voltámos com o coração cheio de amor, com as energias renovadas, prontas para enfrentar mais um dia desta selva citadina!

At times like these we need to take a deep breath, become aware and…Stop!
Did you ever stop for a minute to think:

How long have you not been engaged to yourself?

How long have you not allowed yourself to live in peace and tranquility?

Well, It was for this reason that “Quinta do Freixieiro” decided to organize a very special day. They invited us to a “Charming day” dedicated to a healthy and peaceful lifestyle.
When we got together the sun was already heating up conversations that multiplied like cherries! Empathy was natural, and we were all anxious for the surprises that awaited us. After a few minutes of travel, we arrived!
Quinta do Freixieiro belonged to the Convent of Santa Clara and still carries timeless experiences and connections! The imposing red facade embraced us like the warmth of a mother on a winter’s day! We entered and felt cozy for all that good energy!

After a meeting in the living room we went to visit the House.

It is a restored home that coexists with the “new” in a wise and serene way. It has 6 suites, an attic, a yoga room, 2 living rooms, a dining room, a large kitchen and a swimming pool.
The gardens are unique, mysterious and romantic, connected with nature as a symbol of perfection, they carry a bucolic, peasant and puerile fantasy.
After the visit, they organize a Healthy Kitchen Workshop with Francisca Guimarães from the Miss Kale Blog. It was simply amazing! Besides responding to all our doubts, Francisca shared with us the recipe of a Detox juice that exceeded my expectations, it was divine!
Because the “air” of the countryside opens the appetite we went to the dining room! What do you think … .is this table spectacular or not !?
The meal was vegetarian and extremely nutritious:

  • Entry: Couscous of broccoli with tomato and baked apple and coriander pesto.
  • Lunch: Asian salad with grilled tofu.
  • Dessert: Grain pudding with chocolate.

You know I don’t eat Grains, but this chocolate pudding was really hard to resist! The meal was a unbelievable fusion of flavors and textures!
Then there was free time to enjoy the farm and to do the digestion before the Yoga class.
A few years ago I practiced Yoga, but I confess that I always felt like an ugly duck! When the teacher asked to stretch and make all those positions that require mobility, I simply couldn’t do anything! But even so, I went … with fear, but I went! Fortunately, I overcame the shame! It was a very interesting sensorial experience.
We also received a bottle of the famous green wine that they began to produce in the 70’s and has won many awards and achieved great success.
I want to thank to the Quinta do Freixieiro every second of this incredible day! We returned with a heart filled with love, with renewed energies, ready to face another day of this city jungle!
